Letter: Hooray for antenna TV

Besides wondering if Alaska will rise to the bottom again, denying science and lead the nation in COVID-19 cases given the new omicron variant, I am really amused with all the letters about the new TV streaming service.

What I find most amusing about all of the remotes not working and customer service not responding is that you can get television for free. You don’t even have to call an 800 number, all you have to have is an antenna.

On my television, I have an old movie channel, an old Western channel, a game show channel, two old TV show channels, one or two religious channels, all the local channels with all the local and national TV news, a music channel with people in cowboy hats and boots, some crime channel, and a channel that lets me know my Spanish is not very good, because I can’t catch much of what is being said.

Best of all are four channels I actually watch, channels that support the community and provide accurate information. They are the Alaska Public Media channels.

I can stream TV, too, with my DSL internet at home or using my phone data as a hot spot.

Quit paying for commercials, get an antenna!
