Letters to the Editor

Letter: Divest from Russia

Alaska has a moral imperative to join the many nations and corporations divesting themselves of Russian investments in protest of Vladimir Putin’s unjustified invasion of Ukraine.

The governor has the power and ethical duty to order the immediate removal of Russian investments from the Alaska Permanent Fund. Alaska has a sizable population of people of Ukrainian descent, and it is immoral for Alaskans to profit in any way from Russian corporations while Ukrainians suffer the threat of being subsumed into an authoritarian dictatorship.
