Letter: Failed school bond

With the last school bond failing, the district needs to re-examine how its funds are spent and realize that money must be set aside for maintaining schools instead of allowing them to fall apart. School buildings that could have many more years of use are allowed to deteriorate because the district bets on school bonds passing to build new ones, which is no way to run a business. Expensively designed structures do nothing to help students succeed. What provides a good education is not the building, but the teachers and staff.
