Letter: Reform PFD eligibility

Alaska should show support for all our youth. First, by guaranteeing every youth from the ages of 18-24 will receive a Permanent Fund dividend regardless of where they reside. Some of our youths have no choice but to reside out of state due to lack of certain advanced learning curriculum in Alaska. The fairest way to address all our youths is by addressing age, not who does what.

Secondly, the notion that our youths who are attending school in another state should be held to the same rigid requirement to provide an application without a grace period is simply short-sighted and needs to be addressed immediately.

I would like to see Alaska elect a Democrat to the U.S. House this November.
