Letter: Don’t vote against your interests

Alaskans, take note and do your homework as you consider candidates for in the upcoming election. I increasingly feel like the Republican Party is waging a very effective war on women, people of color, Alaska Natives, LGBTQ people — possibly anyone not white and Christian. These folks are out to diminish your rights, move you to sidelines and disenfranchise you in many, many ways.  Follow the money.

These campaigns are becoming increasingly expensive and bring in lots of money from interests outside Alaska. With our small population, Alaskans would have difficulty coming up with the funds advancing these campaigns.

Do your homework and vote for candidates working for everyone’s interests. We are an amazingly diverse state, and I’d hate to see any group marginalized and disenfranchised.
