Letters to the Editor

Letter: Bad candidates

I watched the Trump rally in Anchorage on July 9 and was appalled at the comments made by Donald Trump about Sen. Lisa Murkowski. Not only were many of them inaccurate, but they were also insulting to her and her integrity. Trump is a bully and uses his pulpit to undermine individuals who disagree with him. Trump continues to perpetrate the “big lie” about the election. There was no fraud, end of story.

The fact that the two individuals endorsed by Trump also claim that there was election fraud in 2021 makes them gullible and easily led by a dangerous man. Sarah Palin and Kelly Tshibaka do not deserve to represent the state of Alaska. They are carrying on the myth of election fraud in 2021.

More importantly, both have said that they are in favor of changing the Alaska constitution to limit the rights of women regarding freedom of choice in reproduction. I respect that they have their opinions in this matter, but not when it affects other individuals’ right to make a choice.

Lisa Murkowski has supported reproductive rights regardless of her personnel opinions. Palin and Tshibaka cannot be allowed to subject their private opinions on the citizens of Alaska. My vote is for Lisa Murkowski and Mary Peltola in the August primary.
