Alaska has lost a real treasure. There have been some great people in Alaska history, but few have left the everlasting legacy Ed Rasmuson was able to forge.
Because of the foundation he created, virtually everyone in Alaska is touched by his generosity. He did this not for the power or prestige, but because he loved Alaska and its people. He is a true hero, and his foundation will be remembered in our history forever as changing this state for the better.
He was a devoted husband, a loyal friend, a man of character. His was a life well lived.
