Letter: Thanks to the Assembly

Thank you, Anchorage Assembly representatives, for taking courageous action by creating a process to remove a corrupt elected official. The process, which should be supported by all, is a straightforward, nonpartisan and needed protection of public trust and confidence.

It’s difficult for me to understand the opposition to this reasonable and necessary measure. Unfortunately, many current mayor supporters don’t believe or somehow rationalize that lying, cronyism and abuse of power are not “action worthy.” Assemblymembers Randy Sulte, Jamie Allard and Kevin Cross are in lockstep with the mayor and the uncivil opposing few instead of supporting all their constituents.
