Letter: Not addressing the problem

We move the homeless shelter from the Sullivan Arena to a camp in Northeast Anchorage. That must be nice for the neighborhood. We here at Third Avenue and Eagle are also seeing an uptick in illegal camping, theft and threats of violence when we ask people to stay away from our property.

Whatever happened to Mayor Rick Mystrom’s “City of Lights?” What happened to Gov. Tony Knowles’ Coastal Trail? Went down to Ship Creek, walking my dogs; the trail banks are washing away by the dam.We have outside, new money coming into town/tourism, and Fourth and Fifth avenues don’t make us look real good. Gov. Mike Dunleavy says “We’re open for business.” Mayor Dave Bronson, could you help?
