Letters to the Editor

Letter: Quyana, Mary Peltola

Alaskans made a wise choice when they selected Mary Peltola to become our next member of Congress. As our former representative in the Alaska Legislature for 10 years when I lived in Bethel, Mary worked hard to meet the many needs of Kuskokwim River and Bering Sea coastal communities during that time. It was ideal preparation for next representing all of Alaska’s needs in Congress, and she has hit the ground running to assume her new duties, so far re-employing key staff formerly with Don Young and focusing on key fisheries and other natural resource issues that are important to all Alaskans.

Now that we’ve had a brief preview of Mary’s approach to her new job, I am hoping Alaskans will again support her in a full two-year term on Nov. 8, giving her additional opportunities to demonstrate her many skills as our lone member of Congress. Quyana, Mary!
