Letter: Let’s have lotteries

Another large Powerball is getting pulled, and this is another Powerball that Alaskans can not take part in with the rest of the United States.

Unlike Nevada, Alabama, Utah and Mississippi, where residents also cannot play in the state where they live, Alaskans can’t just drive to the next state to buy their tickets. The large lotteries do a lot to help out with where the money goes for the states at the same time, as it lets us be just a little bit like the Lower 48. I believe the pros outweigh the cons of lotteries. I believe we Alaskans should have the option to buy lottery tickets if we wish. Let us choose which way we want, not the few who think they are saving us from sin.
