Letter: Ambler Road thoughts

I have been thinking about Nasruk Nay’s recent commentary piece about the Ambler Road and discrimination against Native peoples. I’m sure that such discrimination continues. It would be good to have a vote to know the opinion of people in the entire road area about such a development.

I hope the new interim CEO of the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority, or AIDEA, Morgan Neff, will be sensitive to the thoughts of the residents of that area.

Have the powers of the AIDEA ever considered a rail line rather than a road? That might bring together those who want economic parity and those who wish to preserve the wilderness.
