The House Democrats released Trump’s tax returns. This bothers me, and should bother any American, no matter what we might think of Donald Trump. Investigating them is one thing. Making them public is another.
When the Republicans take control, can they release Nancy Pelosi’s? Can they release yours or mine? Think about it. As Thomas Paine said, “He that would make his own liberty secure must guard even his enemy from oppression: for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.”
