Letter: Knik Arm Bridge revival

The main problem with the Knik Arm Bridge is that tolls would need to be so high that too few people would choose to take the bridge and pay the toll. This would force the toll to be higher; yet, it would never yield enough money to pay for bridge bond(s).

I propose we should add two more sources of revenue to the bridge to reduce tolls, so enough people would pay. Main support could include a 500-foot tower with a topside rotating restaurant, as well as attachment points for broadcast antennae to provide the additional rents needed to make the bridge pencil out.

Conventional steel and concrete will not work in our silt-and-gravel moraine.
