Letters to the Editor

Letter: Perpetual outrage

Here we go again, as expected. Our citizenry, up in arms over any change to any aspect of Anchorage’s landscape, has targeted the latest in a series of name changes for Alaska USA federal credit union. Is this really worth the profusion of letters to the editor?

I suppose it is, given the letters-worthy litany of “offenses” committed by that criminal, change, over the years. Visitors to town reading the letters section over the years would have thought that the upgraded power lines along Northern Lights Boulevard spelled the end of East Anchorage, its scenery obliterated. Before that, the Dowling traffic circle was certain to be hell on Earth for anyone hapless enough to venture within. And who can forget the horror that was to be inflicted on South Anchorage by the indoor golf range? Ad nauseum.

Change is inevitable. Alas, so is our state of perpetual offense.
