Letter: Equal Rights Amendment

I want to thank Sen. Lisa Murkowski for supporting the Equal Rights Amendment bill that will codify equal rights for women and ban discrimination based on sex.

As a 66-year-old woman, I am very concerned and angry about the current attack on women’s rights.

It’s a basic no-brainer that this amendment should be added to our Constitution.

The people who oppose this bill are fear-mongering. All citizens of the United States deserve equalrights. I was unable to get a direct answer from Sen. Dan Sullivan’s office on where he stands on this amendment, but I will continue to press him for a simple yes or no answer. I wonder, why is this so hard to do?
