Letter: Unnecessary suffering

So, our state Attorney General Treg Taylor has canceled anti-discrimination protection against the LGBTQ community. Shame on him. These folks don’t choose their sexual orientation or gender identity any more than the disabled choose their disabilities. He’s also threatening pharmacies that sell a legal and FDA-approved drug that seems to offend his religious beliefs. The AG’s behavior is disgraceful — and after disgraced former attorneys general Kenneth Clarkson and Ed Sniffen, this is getting old. Where is Gov. Mike Dunleavy in all this?

In addition to inflicting unnecessary suffering on innocent members of our community, this may well cause young people, who would otherwise flock to Alaska to fill the many jobs crying out for workers, to think twice before moving up here into such an oppressive moral climate.
