Letter: School funding and accountability

In regard to the March 15 commentary, “Alaska students need more investment …” Academic accountability is at issue. Standardized testing really does measure students’ level of academic success. The socioeconomic status of parents should not make a difference if the teachers are doing their jobs.

At times, schools may need to combine due to low population, and raising the cost per student is not the answer.
