Letter: Legislative compensation

News of the latest cynical attempt at revising legislative compensation was unfortunate, to say the least. I won’t repeat all of my opinions on the topic (which I shared in the ADN Jan. 9, 2022), but I will say that the salary should be higher and the per diem should be eliminated.

Adoption of a commission recommendation or passage of any legislation to revise the compensation package should become effective only upon the passage of an updated Permanent Fund dividend payout formula.
