Letter: Disorderly conduct

Both “The Tennessee Three” and the Jan. 6 rioters had political grievances to express. Problem is, both groups chose inappropriate ways to express their views: They both attempted to obstruct the orderly function of government, and thus, both groups were in the wrong.

A well-functioning democratic government relies upon peaceful and orderly expression of ideas. The use of disorderly and/or violent conduct as a means of political expression is out of line, and ought not to be tolerated.
