Letter: Abdication of responsibility

Concerning the closing of the Sullivan Arena at the end of the month: What is wrong with those in charge of the welfare of the citizens in the Anchorage community?

To close the Sullivan Arena at the end of April after a record winter of snow and cold weather without a plan for these folks to have shelter is inhuman. This is well beyond economics. Everyone involved in the “decision making” for the current homeless situation should be ashamed of this decision.

No one should be forced to live out on the streets of Anchorage when there currently is a safe place for them to shelter, the Sullivan Arena, and until a real solution has been developed.
