Letters to the Editor

Letter: Fair and balanced?

Fox News loves to report scandals, as long as they do not reflect poorly on those they support or on themselves. While they did report on the then-upcoming trial that Dominion Voting Systems had against Fox for broadcasting lies about them, a day after a settlement was reached for the massive sum of $787.5 million, news of the settlement could not be found on their website.

This conforms to what I see as their standard operating procedure: hyping news that promotes fear and anger among their audience while avoiding or putting spin on news that might negatively affect their propagandist agenda. This agenda seems to be to promote division and polarization in the populace (weakening our country) in order to maximize their profit, as apparently, such a polarized and angered audience makes for a loyal (though somewhat ignorant) audience.

I do hope that as people grow older they also grow in wisdom, wisdom enough to seek better sources of news — perhaps even relying more upon newspapers that employ responsible and truthful journalists.
