Letters to the Editor

Letter: Bad use of resources

The people we elect, and the people they select for government jobs, work for us. Several of our employees, including Gov. Mike Dunleavy and Mayor Dave Bronson, spent a recent workday helping our former employee, Ben Carson, promote his book. I’m not sure exactly what they were doing, but I was unable to connect the day’s activity to a current city or state need.

Meanwhile, another of our employees, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, was visiting our state to meet with law enforcement officials and discuss how we would spend the money coming our way to reduce crime in rural areas. Sen. Lisa Murkowski was there. Gov. Dunleavy should have been there, too.

Dunleavy and Bronson have plenty to do in their workdays. I am increasingly frustrated with their choices, and the associated price tags.
