Letters to the Editor

Letter: Soldier deaths

A curled forefinger, doddery and speckled with beach sand, slyly hoists a Chinese diamond-studded shirt cuff, languid, soupy eyes drooping wristward to gauge the precise Rolex time as American flagcloaked coffins are carried with white gloves from a military transport plane.

On Aug. 26, 2021, during President Joe Biden’s authorized Afghanistan withdrawal, 13 American soldiers were killed by a suicide bomber at the Kabul International Airport. On Aug. 29, President Biden was present when their bodies were returned to the United States at Dover Air Base in Delaware, 49 minutes away from Rehoboth Beach.

This is the only campaign ad I need for the 2024 presidential election.
