Letter: Good money after bad

It was reported in Monday’s edition that Donald Trump’s campaign claimed his supporters contributed more than $7 million since last week, when he was booked in the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta. While the accuracy of that claim is unconfirmed, I will assume it is correct.

More than 400 years ago, Dr. John Bridges wrote that “a foole and his his money is soone parted.” Despite the passage of time, this statement still applies to Trump’s supporters. Apparently, a large number of people are no smarter than the “fooles” 400 years ago.

Surely, there are no such “fooles” here in Alaska.
