Letter: Respect for fallen soldiers

Just a very short retort to Scott Hammond’s derisive recent observation of President Joe Biden’s attendance at Dover Airbase: The solemn greeting of America’s fallen soldiers is a heartbreaking occasion. The implication it was not taken seriously by the president is insulting and preposterous, to say the least.

Consider the fact that George W. Bush would not let the occasion be photographed or televised and, even more egregious, the disgusting and immoral statement that soldiers who die defending our country are ‘suckers’ and ‘losers’ by Donald Trump only leads to the conclusion that Hammond is politically naive or possibly a member of the cult of personality that supports the previous misguided administration.
