Letters to the Editor

Letter: Labor Day thanks

On the occasion of Labor Day, I’d like to offer specific thanks to whomever were the actual hands-on laborers responsible for clearing the trails in the area near the Campbell Creek Science Center and the BLM Anchorage Field Office.

As a result of our recent wind event, there were numerous trees that found their final resting place lying across the trails in that area preventing a safe and enjoyable recreational biking experience on those trails. I don’t know if it was laborers from the BLM, or possibly from the municipality’s Parks and Recreation Department — or maybe it was laborers associated with Swalling General Contractors and associated entities who appear to be engaged in some trail rehabilitation work in that area. Whomever it was, your work has contributed significantly to what makes this location such a great place to live. Thanks!
