Letter: PFD cuts

I’m not so sure that cuts in the Permanent Fund dividend concern the poorest people the most. I think where the PFD monies are spent is the problem overall.

Money spent from the PFD that goes directly out of state is a problem, regardless of who spends it. How much of the PFD is spent by the poorest and up the line should be looked at. If, for instance, the poorest people spend it on Alaska Airlines, going to the movies, eating junk food or things to waste it, then there is a problem; I don’t care how much money you have.

Figure out how to keep the PFD money in Alaska and out of the bureaucrats’ hands, as they will never have enough.
