Letter: Thanks to an honest stranger

Thank you to the stranger who returned my son’s backpack.

My son Sage, his brother and friends and I spenta beautiful afternoon picking Labrador tea onTuesday below Flattop Mountain. At some point

— possibly as we were scurrying away from two angry bull moose — he dropped it, along with a good portion of our outdoor gear. My husband and I returned to the field to search for the pack with no luck. We were beyond surprised when our son come home from school with the backpack and a story of a stranger who returned it to his school.

Thanks to this stranger for their act of kindness. It filled our hearts with gratitude and appreciation for our Anchorage community.
