Letters to the Editor

Letter: Peas in a pod

It sure seems like news from an imploding regimesomeplace far away: A congressman under a current ethics investigation for sex trafficking of minors, Matt Gaetz, held the lever of power thatjust removed my party’s Speaker of the House and stopped the machinery of our government in its tracks. Gaetz had the support of another politician — a fellow who was just found guilty by a civil jury of sexual assault, later clarified quitepointedly as “rape” by the judge, who was recently found guilty of years-long business fraud and currently facing 91 felony criminal counts in four jurisdictions.

Gaetz appears to be looking to become the next governor of Florida, while Trump is looking to become the next messiah.

According to his colleagues, Gaetz showed other representatives lewd pictures of his conquests on his telephone, on the floor of the House of Representatives. Trump bragged about his actual prowess with sexual assault, all recorded for our listening horror.

One thing you can say is this: If ever there was a mentor-mentee relationship that made sense, this is it.
