Letter: Wieber hit the mark

Thanks to Aubrey Wieber for his column (ADN, Nov. 16) that highlighted Mayor Dave Bronson’s lack of competence.

And already we have a new example: The municipality agreed to help the state clear all their roads before working in neighborhoods. Bronson reportedly said, “It was a matter of public safety. I can’t have ambulances breaking axles.”

Public safety? Thousands of residents who can’t get out for medical treatment? And how will those ambulances — or police, or fire engines — navigate the unplowed streets to reach people whose safety might depend on them?

No question that plowing resources are strained and that they’re needed everywhere. But thoughtless remarks by the mayor aren’t going to help.
