Letters to the Editor

Letter: Snow complaints

Recently, I have been reading many letters to the editor in the ADN critical of the Municipality of Anchorage snowplowing after a couple of big snowstorms.

However, we have to realize we live in a northern place where some extra big snowfalls will take time to clear all the roads.

Today my wife called from Munich, Germany, and told me the entire 1.5 million population city was shut down due to a heavy snowstorm, including the International airport, trains and buses, and it will take several days to dig out. Most residents accept this occasional inconvenience and don’t write dozens of letters complaining about it.

Of course, I like a lot of snow, since I managed Alyeska Ski Resort. Better than a lot of rain and black ice. Let it snow.
