Letter: Don't excuse incompetence

It’s bad enough that the Anchorage city government is unable to adequately plow the snow from its streets, but what really irks me are the people who write patronizing letters saying, “Suck it up and stop whining. We’re Alaskans. Anchorage is a northern city and snow falls, so get used to it.”

That’s exactly why Anchorage should be prepared for snowfall — it is a northern city and not being prepared for what the weather has in store for us should be, above all else, embarrassing. After all, we are Alaskans. Stop making excuses for incompetence. There are no excuses.
