Letter: Broken health insurance system

For those that are self-employed, the federal health care marketplace is broken for Alaskans. For example, for a family of three, the most affordable insurance plan costs about $2,000 per month, $24,000 per year, with an out-of-pocket maximum of $18,000. How can most people afford being one emergency room visit away from an $18,000 bill — even with insurance?
