Letter: Finding common ground

I read that U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson is making it a priority to defeat Mary Peltola in her campaign to continue representing Alaskans in Congress. If Alaska is getting national attention, wouldn’t it be a far better legacy to have it be about how two hardworking women with integrity held on to their friendship and led our country toward a functional government where leaders from both political parties used civil discourse to find common ground for solving the many problems that face our state and country?
