Letter: We already pay for snow removal

This is in response to a letter written by Frank Rast in the Jan. 5 edition of the ADN concerning imposing a gas tax for snow removal. The municipality assesses property taxes for local properties, with payment options available annually or semi-annually. Revenue collected from property tax plays a pivotal role in funding the development and maintenance of essential local amenities such as roads, parks, and sewer systems. I think roads mean snow removal also. I don’t mind paying my fair share of taxes, but I want to get a little something in return. I think property owners are taken for granted.
