Letter: Good decision by the museum

I was so pleased and proud to read the announcement that the Anchorage Museum will be offering free admission to Alaska Native peoples. We are coming out of an era where museums displayed Native artifacts and cultural materials that were unethically collected, and many museums restricted access to the descendant communities.

In further steps to correct past wrongs by the industry, this more forward progress ensures that Alaska Natives have access to their own history. The Anchorage Museum continues to listen to its tribal partners, and I am glad to be a museum member. Thank you for striving to be better! This is Dena’ina Elnena.
