Letter: America’s freedom at risk

True Americans recognize the sacrifices made by those who defended the Constitution and the democratic freedom everyone shares, shielding us from both foreign (Russia) and domestic threats (Make America Great Again Part II).

The MAGA enthusiasts in Congress and their actions thus far have only aimed at securing Donald Trump’s presidency, wasting tax dollars. His immunity case now rests in the hands of the Supreme Court of the United States. Freedom at pause.

The unfolding events surrounding our political freedom are a scary thing to watch, and there is a growing concern that it may end very soon. It seems like people are being set up and primed to embrace something more ominous than the current actions of the MAGA crowd. This shift extends from the lowest followers to even the Supreme Court of the United States. We must uphold our freedom; people died for it during the Civil War and since, including as a result of the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021. Come November, the virtue of our nation’s true spirit of American values and its protection is walking up to the polls.
