Letter: Override the veto

I hope our state legislators have the wisdom and courage to override the governor’s veto of the bipartisan education funding bill. The House and Senate have collaborated well in crafting this bill, which would adequately fund our schools that have been shortchanged for years. Stagnant funding has resulted in larger class enrollment and reduced curricular offerings. Our local school boards have the responsibility and capability to implement successful policies if they have the financial resources to craft a curriculum and hire enough staff to reduce class sizes.
