Letters to the Editor

Letter: Education vote consequences

I can hardly believe the ugly, pernicious, self-aggrandizing manner in which a truly wicked minority of the Alaska Legislature stood in the way of overriding our dimwitted Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s veto of the badly needed education funding bill.

Alaska’s children are our state’s treasures. How dare this self-centered governor — together with his cronies in the Legislature — disrespect Alaska’s children by denying them the education that all of us adults received when we were young?

Dunleavy and his legislative toadies are not representatives of the people or anything near it. They’re all ignorant. I say let’s all remember this incident, and later, when Dunleavy and all his toadies who had a hand in denying our kids a decent education come up for re-election, let’s make sure that we voters throw them out of office.
