Letter: Issues on both sides

In response to Brad Owens’ letter on “normal vs. woke,” I also wish the mayor and Assembly could get along, but there is a big ideological difference between the two.

Mr. Owens eloquently pointed out some of Mayor Dave Bronson’s deficiencies but omitted the Assembly’s debacles, such as a $2.5 million foundation that now sits vacant with no plan on the Assembly side for a solution. How about bringing the tent that also sits in storage somewhere in the Lower 48 and making use of it in some way on the foundation?

Next, how about the failed bond that would have spent $5 million on 10 public bathrooms at a cost of a half-million dollars each? Concerning snow removal, we had 132 inches of snow this winter, about two inches off the record. Who could have predicted that?

Lastly, we have spent many millions of dollars on homelessness solutions with basically nothing to show for it, and I haven’t heard anything concrete from the Assembly on how to solve this. The list goes on.

Let’s just admit that both sides could have done a better job for us and hope whoever is elected mayor can do better, get along and compromise for the betterment of our city.
