Letters to the Editor

Letter: Protest motivations

I just read a letter to the editor about offering students who are demonstrating against the war and deaths of innocents going on in Gaza the money to go live there.

I believe, the students believe, in the ideals our nation has strived for since its inception. They see the deaths of women and children in the thousands to be a horror and are reaching out to our nation to stop it.

Of course, it may be naive, but their motives are pure.

They see this nation as a protector of the weak. We profess to believe we are a protector nation. Can you understand where our children got their ideas to try and stop this slaughter?

Let’s give this some thought and try to understand their motivation. There may be outside agitators at work, but basically our children just want to believe our nation is a protector of the weak and powerless.
