Alaska Rugby Union action pit the Manu Bears, featuring men from Anchorage's Samoan community, against the Arctic Legion Military Rugby Club at Davis Field in Mountain View for bruising tackles and strong scrums on Aug. 1, 2017. The Bears beat Legion, 30-21.

Alaska Rugby Union consists of seven men's teams and three women's teams. Action continues through August at Davis Field and Alaska Mountain Rugby Grounds.
