Auto racing back at Alaska Raceway Park after big Fourth of July weekend

Following a full slate of oval and drag racing over the Fourth of July weekend, oval racing continues with the Diversified Tire race Saturday at Alaska Raceway Park.
Last weekend, David Elliot took his usual first place in the baby grands race, and Mike Thomas (legends) and Tim Workman (late models) also picked up wins.
In the junior dragster races, it was brother and sister going head-to-head in the final race with Ryan Bodenstadt edging his sister, Brooke Bodenstadt, in Round 7 to take the win.
Nathan Thornsley won the Gambler's bracket and top sportsman drag races as the only double-winner in the series of drag races over the weekend.
Saturday's events in Palmer start at 4 p.m. for qualifying and 6 p.m. for racing.
