Eagle River girls, Dimond boys take ski victories at Kincaid Park

Emily Walsh of Eagle River and Peter Hinds of Dimond led their teams to victory Saturday at a high school skiathlon at Kincaid Park.

Racers completed a 4.4-kilometer classic loop and then switched skis for 5.5 kilometers of freestyle skiing.

The Eagle River girls used a 1-2 finish from Walsh and Claire Nelson to hold off West in the girls team standings by about 34 seconds.

Dimond took the boys team title with nearly a four-minute margin over second-place Chugiak. Hinds and Nils Kolb finished 1-2 to lead the Lynx.
