Video: Fresh snow covers Chugach front range peaks

Fresh snow cover various mountain peaks on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, in the front range of the Chugach Mountains. On Wednesday evening, there was a special weather statement predicting possible thunderstorms producing locally heavy rainfall and small hail in Anchorage. The National Weather Service forecast called for a 40 percent chance of precipitation Thursday evening with a low of 47 degrees Fahrenheit. A chance of scattered showers was expected to persist into Friday, with a high of 58 degrees and a low of 48.
