Anchorage man faces 3 child sex abuse charges

A 30-year-old Anchorage man arrested last month after a grandmother reported that he tried to abuse two young girls has been indicted on three felony charges.

Christopher Mosely was charged with second-degree sexual abuse of minor and two counts of attempted sex abuse of a minor.

Prosecutors say the alleged abuse happened on June 15, when Mosely enticed the two girls, ages 7 and 9, into a laundry room. The grandmother intervened and called police.

"The police took the children to Alaska Cares for forensic interviews and examinations," the Department of Law said Monday. The state's charges against Mosely follows those interviews.

Mosely faces up to 30 years for the sex abuse charge and an additional 20 years for each attempted sex abuse charge. His potential sentence will be up the judge and based partly on criminal history, the Department of Law noted.

The Anchorage Police Department is still seeking additional information on Mosely as it believes he may have victimized other children. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 907-786-8900.
