Wasilla woman accused of attempt to smuggle drugs into prison

A visitor to Alaska's correctional system became an inmate Monday evening after she tried to bring drugs to someone already being held at a Mat-Su prison, Alaska State Troopers said.

Tiffany Becker, 20, was detained during an inmate visit at the Goose Creek Correctional Center by staff members, who notified troopers at about 8:30 p.m. Monday, according to a Tuesday trooper dispatch.

"An investigation showed Becker had brought a controlled substance into the facility in an attempt to pass the drugs to the inmate during a visit," troopers wrote.

Troopers arrested Becker on one count each of first-degree promotion of contraband and fourth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances. She was held at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on $1,500 bail; a statewide inmate database listed her as still in custody Tuesday morning.
