More facts come out daily about the origins of the pandemic that led to the deaths of 3.4 million people worldwide, including some 500,000 in the U.S. It is without doubt the most important story of our time. And part of the job of citizens, of journalists and responsible political leaders, is to question assumptions.

Thoughtful people of good will on both the left and the right understand the politics of fear. So do the manipulative cynics seeking to exploit it.

Today, there are few national Republican political figures who can explain conservatism to a national audience.

What we need is to take a breath and consider the implications of all this.

He failed in his quest for the White House before, and now he so desperately wants to be president that he’d countenance threats from the left against the independence of the Supreme Court.

Urban violence has been building for some time. And despite what Democrats say now, it did not begin with Trump.

If Biden is elected, the left will not stop using cancel culture to silence dissent, because it works.

But once you brand 60 million people as “white supremacists,” and “Nazis,” what can you do with them? If Democrats win in 2020, will Trump voters be welcomed back into some brave new Trumpless America

In both cases, it’s clear that there were industrious enablers helping predators on their hunt.

The republic doesn’t require complete faith in government. A healthy skepticism will suffice.
