Eni begins oil production at Nikaitchuq field

According to several sources this morning, the Italian oil major Eni has announced that it has started producing oil from its operation at the North Slope field, Nikaitchuq. According to Offshore magazine, upon completion of its development plans, Eni expects peak production of 28,000 barrels of oil per day from the field's estimated 220-million-barrel recoverable reserves.
